Red Creek Farm is owned
and operated by Jon and Carol Anne Bailey Tholkes. Our farm offers
many different animal services, such as herding training, lessons, and events,
obedience lessons, and pet boarding. We also breed Working Border
Collies, Katahdin cross sheep, Reg. Brangus cattle, and commercial cattle. We enjoy working with all kinds of animals and helping people
with their animals as well.
Red Creek Farm was bought as a cattle farm in the Spring of 2000, With
the help of family and friends, it was remodeled into a herding dog working
facility, as well as continuing to be a cattle farm. Our house was built by family and friends using recycled building
materials. We could not have done it without all of their
help. Red Creek Farm would not have been possible without the help of Carol
Anne's parents, Mary and Hubert Bailey. We are grateful for their
ongoing support as well as the support of our friends.
|
The farm name comes from two of Carol Anne's two main
working dogs at the time the farm was bought, Red and Creek. Red passed away
Jan. of 2006. Creek is now retired on a farm in GA. These two special dogs were the inspiration of Red Creek
Farm.

We were married
August 18, 2002, under the big oak tree at the farm. Everyone brought
their dogs, wore comfortable clothes, and Littlefoot and Dusty (2
of our pet sheep) participated in the wedding ceremony. Our family
includes about 90 sheep, a small group of Brangus cattle, several Border Collies,
3 Great
Pyrenees Livestock Guard Dogs, 1 house dog, yard chickens, 3 barn cats, 1 house cat, and
a water dragon.

Carol Anne is originally from Dawsonville Georgia, where she lived all
her life before moving to South Carolina to go to Veterinary
Technology School. In 1990,while still in school, she began to work at
Happistance Complete Veterinary Care Clinic in Townville, where she continues to
fill in from time to time. She is also a licensed real estate
broker in South
Carolina & Georgia. Carol Anne started working with Border Collies when
she was nine years old, when her father (Hubert Bailey), first got the dogs to
help with the cattle farm. |
For several years now, Carol Anne,
Jon and Hubert have worked together teaching herding clinics, hosting stock dog
trials, and competing in trials together. We are also judges for herding trials
and do event demos.
Carol Anne and Jon operate
a boarding and grooming kennel at their farm. They are there to help
with all of your pet needs!
